19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of that year.

Success also indicates he has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
